R9 Superdeep Tp Drivers For Mac

Current spec: R510 TP Tour Fuji 757 Speeder-X 9.5 deg. 44.25' Has been solid for me over the years, but would like lower spin shaft, more roll after carry, and deeper face. When I miss with R510, it's either a very high push & fade (20-30yd right) or the less frequent top-spin snap. I know my swing needs a retune, but can't help but feel the shaft has become a weak link. Do shafts weaken over time? Tried a variety of drivers @ a local Golfsmith, and the R9 SuperDeep with RIP-70 shaft stood out for it's solid feel.

My specs on their truefit(?) system were as follows over 20-30 strikes using the RIP-70.stiff. /9.5 deg: SS: 117-124mph BackSpin: 2500-3500rpm Launch : 11.5-15 deg There was quite a bit of variance as my swing is in rough shape after a 2yr golf hiatus.

Have smooth, long arc swing @ 6'4/210 (swing has been likened to that of big easy Els) and play to +0.5-1.5 during prime. Considering a special order of SuperDeep RIP-70 X 9.5 (no X's seem to be stocked @ retail B&M's), but quite hesitant not being able to see actual ball flight @ a range. Golfsmith rep said the 'stiff' was fine for me (prob since that's what they had on floor), but I'm not confident in that assessment given my SS.

Or am I delusional? My most concerning issue is control, not distance. I'm in Denver, CO.not aware of anyone that has these to demo besides the Golfsmith retail locations. They offer 90 day hit guarantee so I figure it's safest route? Any other R510 TP guys who finally feel they found something in the SD TP to knock the R510 out of bag? Any advice/input would be much appreciated. Edited by HSigma, 13 May 2010 - 12:00 PM.

Unless you are talking about something different, the 90 day return policy does not apply to the SuperDeep - only the SuperFast, SuperTri and R9 460, in advertisements I have seen. I have similar numbers to you and love the superdeep head but found the 70 RIP X to be a little high and spinny. It feels awesome.

Very low torque and delivers a smooth solid hit but I hit moon balls with it. I am gaming a supertri 8.5 with a matrix F7M2LTD and play it a hair closed and get a really good flat hard trajectory. I can open the superdeep up and still hit it high with the RIP. I love the feel of the RIP SD combo but the trajrctory seems to be the opposite of whats advertised for me. When I hit the supertri on the launch monitor they say it doesnt spin enough for me but on the course the trajectory is plenty high. The only way to tell is with live ammo in my opinion. I also hear people who dont like the sound.

I think the sound and feel are very very solid. I have similar numbers to you and love the superdeep head but found the 70 RIP X to be a little high and spinny.

I think the sound and feel are very very solid. I got on the launch monitor today with the SD 9.5 and RIP 70-S. No matter what I did, it spun like crazy for me. I had better luck with a Fubuki 73S and even better results with a Voodoo SVS6. I would like to try a Voodoo SVS7 as I generally prefer a slightly heavier shaft. I ran out of time before I was able to finish trying the different shaft options. The smash factors on my swings were 1.40+.

Unless I really tried to kill the ball. Given the major swing overhaul I have gone through over the past twelve months, I was very happy with the consistent contact I was making. I love the look, feel, and sound of the SD head. Sorry, was away on business. Thanks for the input folks, much appreciated.

Wound up ordering a new SuperDeep TP 9.5 with Matrix Ozik HD6 X for low cost ($450). Arrives next week, will put through the paces. Was contemplating an XX HD6, but have decided I will attempt dialing down SS to around 115mph.

Interested to see what the Ozik HD fuss is all about. If all else fails, will start the shaft musical chairs with my trusty R510 9.5 Tour head. Driver control is a serious issue for me.757-X Speeder not helping cause. Honestly at a point where I would give up 40yds (325-285) to hit more fairways.

Lots of swing work ahead of me. Sorry, was away on business.

I found after some trial and error that the XCON 7 was a great fit for me and has a similar shaft weight. Although I don't currently have it in a driver, I have it in my 3 wood (Adams 5050) and 5 wood (Adams 4555).

It might be worth a try. You may even be able to find a pull that you could try rather than buying new.
